The ball cross-flow fan is a special type of fan, whose most important feature is the use of ball bearing and magnetic ring technology, which can effectively reduce noise and improve air output, efficiency and service life. The use of this type of fan on DC and AC fans with mixed forms of sliding and rolling friction reflects its low cost, but at the same time, due to its use of ball bearings, the price is high, which may limit the scope of its application.

The overall structure of a ball crossflow fan is rather unique in that it consists of an outer frame, a drive unit, and fan blades. The outer frame includes a frame, a guide vane and a first support, with a centre tube provided on the first support. The driving device includes a stator and a rotor, with the stator set in the first holding chamber and the rotor set in the second holding chamber via ball bearings. The fan blade includes a blade and a second support, and the blade is set on the second support.

The operating principle of the ball cross-flow fan is that by changing the ratio of the area of the guide blades to the area of the gap between adjacent guide blades, the minimum spacing distance between the blades and the guide blades, and the use of technical means such as the ball bearing and the magnetic ring, the fluid is made to flow twice through the impeller of the fan, with the intake and exhaust directions being in the same plane, and the discharged gas being uniformly distributed along the direction of the width of the fan.

Ball cross-flow fans are used in a wide range of applications, including laser instruments, air conditioners, air curtain equipment, dryers, hairdryers, home appliances, and grain combine harvesters. Its main function is to dissipate heat, and its motor structure is simple, easy to produce and convenient to use.

Overall, the ball crossflow fan is a high-efficiency, low-noise fan with a long service life, but its high price may limit its use in some application scenarios.
