Difference between DC and AC fans

DC fans and AC fans are two different types of fans that differ in their use, construction, and principle of operation.

A DC fan is powered by a DC power supply and its principle of operation is to rotate by the suction force generated by the conductor current. It contains magnets and PCB boards in its construction, so in terms of price, DC fans of the same grade are more expensive than AC fans. DC fans have higher airflow stability and are suitable for devices that require constant airflow, such as computers and household appliances.

AC fans, on the other hand, rotate by switching the magnetic field generated by the silicon steel sheet. Compared to DC fans, AC fans are relatively simple to construct, have no magnets, and their airflow stability is limited by the frequency of the power supply. AC fans are relatively inexpensive, but they excel in heavy-duty characteristics, flowing bead bearing support, and super suction, and are suitable for places that require cooling, ventilation, and air exchange, especially industrial and mining places with high temperatures or odors.

In use, DC fans have lower power consumption, higher maximum speed, but larger size, lower fan noise and better energy saving. AC fan power consumption is higher, the maximum speed is limited by the power supply frequency, but the volume is smaller, the fan noise is higher, energy saving is poor.

In terms of construction, DC fans have a relatively complex structure and require components such as magnets and PCB boards, while AC fans have a relatively simple structure without magnets.

In terms of working principle, DC fans rotate through the suction generated by the conductor current, while AC fans rotate through the switching of the magnetic field generated by the silicon steel sheet.

To summarize, DC fans and AC fans differ in use, construction and working principle. DC fans are suitable for equipment that requires continuous airflow, while AC fans are suitable for places that require cooling, ventilation and air change. When choosing a fan, you need to choose the right type according to the actual needs and use environment.
